Gary Cheong, Principal of Royal Academia, founded the school in 1998 and has helped over 1,000 families achieve their educational goals. A passionate believer that parents should have a choice in their child's education, he is recognized as a published author, guest speaker and commentator on education issues.

He also believes in "giving back" to the community and serves on the Board of Directors of a number of education and child care organizations, including:

• Ontario Federation of Independent Schools
• Learning Disabilities Association - Toronto Chapter, where he also serves as Treasurer

He has also been interviewed numerous times on radio and in newspapers discussing the value of Independent Schools vs. Public Schools

Formerly, he served on the Advisory Editorial Board of Our Kids and is a former Director of a major tutoring centre.

A student of life-long learning himself, Gary graduated from Carleton University in 1986. He is a qualified Independent School Principal, having successfully completed the Independent School Principal's Course.
